Bruce Hanna is currently serving his third term as the State Representative for House District 7, which includes parts of Lane and Douglas Counties. He was elected by his colleagues as the House Republican Leader in 2007 and continues in that role today. He serves on the House Rules Committee and the Legislative Administration Committee.
Bruce’s election to leadership comes as no surprise to those who know him. He has a knack for leading others, managing successful projects and businesses, and is well-respected by those with whom he works.
Bruce became a businessman at a young age when he established a Dairy Queen franchise in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. His success caught the attention of Coca-Cola, which accepted him into their USA Management Candidate Program. After training with the company for one year, Bruce returned to Oregon to become the sales manager at Coca-Cola Bottling of Roseburg. Using his knowledge of the industry and skills as a leader, Bruce built a soft drink distribution system and grew his business. Ultimately, he sold his business and – along with his wife, Teresa – he purchased the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Roseburg. He is currently the President and CEO of that company as well as its sister company, Automatic Vending Service.
In addition to his legislative and professional duties, Bruce is also on the board of directors for Advantage Dental, the C. Giles Hunt Foundation, and the Community Cancer Center; on the board of trustees for Northwest Christian University in Eugene; and a member of the Roseburg Executive Association and the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Bruce and his wife, Teresa, live in Roseburg. He has two sons, a daughter, and one granddaughter. When he has spare time, he enjoys hunting, skiing and snowmobiling..
